Fairness according to the Tories

December 12, 2015

I saw the advert which tells potential home-owners that if they can afford to save for the deposit to a house, then the Government will contribute a maximum of ยฃ3000 towards this.
So, if you are wealthy, and can afford a deposit – and so therefore a mortgage – this generous Tory government will assist you in making the biggest purchase of your life.

At the other end of the spectrum, if you are poor, and live on benefits in rented accommodation with a spare bedroom, this generous Tory government will deduct 13% from your housing benefit and cause you to pay the 13% of the rent from your meagre Job Seekers Allowance or Sickness Benefit or Employment Support Allowance.

The poor ARE subsidising the rich.

But it has always been thus.

Modern Tory-ism

March 29, 2015

The Tories, under ‘yes-man’ David Cameron – with the assistance of ‘get-my-own-back-man’ Ian Duncan Smith (both of whom are Millionaires) – are intent of reducing the size of the State.

In order to achieve this, they are making the State a big-enough bully to be able to force the weak and the vulnerable to take-care of themselves.
Ability to do so doesn’t matter.

The idea of democracy in this Dis-United Kingdom, is one that is propagated in Westminster – but has withered and died in the rest of the country.

Be selfish this May – vote Tory!

Bedroom Tax BS.

March 12, 2013

Cameron ‘justifies’ this benefit reduction by saying the total spend on housing benefit has to be reduced AND that this move will make the apportioning of housing fair (or fairer) because single people won’t be stranded with excess rooms and families will be given adequate accommodation.

The problem is, however, if, eventually, everyone gets a suitable home with the ‘correct’ number of rooms, no one will pay Bedroom Tax – so no money will be saved at all.

It shows-up the lie that lurks behind Cameron’s smiling words.

It reinforces the idea that the Tories do broadcast untruths.

It adds weight to the theory that all of these benefit changes/cuts/alterations are intended, primarily, to punish the less well-off.

That wonderfully bigoted zealot, Iain Duncan Smith tells us he wishes to free those on welfare from the strangle-hold of poverty- he tells us that universal benefits are part of this attempt. But,really, IDS is trying to make the poor suffer – he is making them destitute to liberate them from the benefit merry-go-round. He is making them poorer to allow them to find dignity.

He is telling porkies in his monotone drawl – but youย  cannot question a zealot.

Disaster in Japan.

March 11, 2011

As Japan tries to recover from the massive earthquake that has devastated much of the South Island’s East cost, Entrepreneurs in America prepare to cash in on meaningless ‘disaster kit’ sales to the gullible!

Adverts with soon appear for emergency aids.

Stores will sell advice about ‘stocking-up’ for an emergency – and sell the goods the advice covers.

Fortunes will be made – money will be spent on meaningless preparation and Gas guzzling 4×4 owners will complain about fuel pricesย  on the meaningless trips to buy the items……….

The guinea-pigs of the capitalist state will take-part enthusiastically in the experiment on new ways to part fools from their money……………………….
